Condoléances
Kathy Hill Udall Old friend, former child she took care of January 16, 2014

Dear Julius,
I had tried to call your Mom last summer & had " trouble on the line".  Since I was beginning my move (downsizing) I never followed up & sent the card.  I do get the Smith College Alumnae Quarterly and I 'm sure I would have noticed her obituary there in the graduate students Section.   Which one was it in?
Your mother was such a dear woman and so caring when she was a sort of "au pair"  for us .  As  I wrote you, I still have and re-read the lovely Lagerloff book, "Chrit's Legends" which she gave me in the Christmas of 1944. We kept in touch over the years & I enjoyed her books.  She was a truly positive person and so caring toward you.  My sympathies to you & the Goepps who lost a fine step-mother.  Sincerely, Kathy Hill Udall

Julius,

I remember trying to find answers for Renate's research questions around 1985 when I began working at the FSU library.  They were always wonderful questions. We both delighted in finding the answers.

Thank you for creating and sharing her memorial with acquaintances and friends.

My condolences to you,

Pam Williams

Julius,

I saw your Mom's name in the paper and was compelled to send a note.  Having lost MY mother, I can only share with you that these magical women are always alive in us!!  Although the loss is painful, and you'll find yourself having that "one more question," the knowledge that she will always be living within you is a comfort!  I'm thinking of you and your family and I send hugs,  Becky

Hi Julius and all,

So sorry to hear of the news, however, how wonderful that Liz and Betty had the chance to meet her and you were with her during her last days.  Her pictures are classics.  Please know that Chris and I send thoughts and prayers and if there is any thing we can do to help, we are there.

Remember her always in the ways that bring you smiles - as her love, I am sure, will rain on you forever.

Take care and hope to see you again soon,

John and Christine
